Education Begets Transformation: A Look into the Ribaat Immersion Retreat Experience
Days will be filled with lessons focusing on learning, personal and spiritual growth, and worship through whole and small group activities, student-to-student interaction, and in-person time with teachers. Evenings and nights will be filled with worship, prayer, adhkar, and Quran reading. Opportunities to build bonds and meet new friends on the path to seeking Allah are integrated into the schedule, with engaging group activities, entertainment, and shared experiences. A detailed schedule will be shared with registered retreaters upon arrival.
This year, the theme of the Ribaat Immersion Retreat will be Islamic History, helping root attendees in the profound legacy of Muslims, reminding them of the continuous revival and return of Allah’s Truth, and filling them with the resolve to become positive cultural change agents. Guided by Dr. Tamara Gray and other Ribaat instructors, students will journey through Islamic history, from the Rashidi caliphate into modern times, and witness the cycles, declines, and triumphs of the Muslim world and the human legacies that preceded us.
The Ribaat Immersion Retreat is open to Muslim women aged 17 and above. After applications are reviewed, priority registration will be given to applicants who live in the UK and surrounding regions.
Policy on children: To allow students and team members to focus fully on the program, children and infants may not accompany retreaters. All attendees must be full participants, Muslim women, and aged 17 and older.
Retreaters will be directed to their accommodations upon arrival at the venue. All facilities are shared with other attendees. Accommodations are all shared rooms with bunk beds. Preference for lower or upper bunks will be provided based on physical ability and availability.
A full packing list will be sent prior to the retreat. Attendees will be provided with bedding (pillow, sheets, blanket) and towels. Retreaters will be expected to keep their accommodations tidy and clean.
Live attendance is required and live streaming will not be possible. Due to the rural location, internet availability may be limited.
Accessibility:
Accessible accommodations are available, and preference will be given to attendees with accessibility needs. If you have a medical condition, cannot walk long distances, require a lower bunk, or accessible bathroom and shower, or have other accessibility needs, kindly mention this in the application form so that appropriate accommodations can be arranged.
Meals:
There will be 3 catered meals per full day, with dinner on the day of arrival, and breakfast the morning of departure. Drinks and snacks will also be available throughout the day.
Special dietary needs or allergies must be mentioned in the retreat application form.
Students whose application has been approved will receive an email with a link to pay. Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of payment of at least 1 installment.
