This two-day workshop is designed for students who are new to or returning to the academic world, providing an accessible and comprehensive guide to handling paper and essay assignments with confidence. Throughout this interactive course, students will learn the essentials of academic writing, from structuring a paper and conducting research to citing sources accurately. With a focus on practicality, the workshop ensures participants leave ready to tackle any writing assignment they encounter.

Course Breakdown:
Day 1: Brainstorming, Research, & Formatting

Brainstorming: Techniques to generate and organize ideas tailored to specific essay topics and objectives.

Research: An overview of finding credible academic sources, navigating online libraries, and managing research data.

Formatting: Introduction to standard academic formats, including MLA, APA, and Chicago styles, with hands-on practice setting up a paper structure.

Day 2: Content Development, Citations, & Bibliography

Content Development: Tips for writing strong introductions, cohesive body paragraphs, and compelling conclusions.

Citations: Step-by-step guidance on in-text citations and how to integrate references smoothly within the text.

Bibliography: How to create a complete and correctly formatted bibliography page that meets academic standards.
