This foundational course in tajwid focuses on the science of Quranic pronunciation, with a special emphasis on the correct articulation of Arabic letters (makhārij) and their attributes (ṣifāt). Students will participate in weekly online sessions to learn key tajwid concepts and join small group recitation classes to practice applying these rules to Juzʾ ʿAmma.
By the end of the course, students will be able to read Juzʾ ʿAmma with accurate pronunciation, applying the principles of tajwid and mastering the phonetics of Quranic Arabic.
*Starred items may be waived through tajwid assessment.
