Course Description:

In this course, students will work one-on-one with a certified tajwid teacher to complete the memorization of the last 5 ajzaʾ of the Holy Quran with full application and knowledge of the tajwid rules. Students will complete a series of oral tests as they progress with their memorization and will be issued a memorization certificate upon passing the final 5 ajzaʾ panel test by the Ribaat Tajwid Committee. This is a self-paced course in which students will be registered every term while enrolled in the program until completion.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Students should be women above the age of 17. Applicants must have a passing grade in all the following courses.

  • Arabic Novice High or equivalent*

  • TAJ 101* & 102* – Qur’an Fluency Parts 1 and 2
  • TAJ 201 & 202 and/or TAJ 203 – Tajwid Rules Courses
  • TAJ 301* – Quran Khitma Project
  • Memorization of Juz’ 30 with tajwid while enrolled in TAJ 401 – The Crowning Venture: Quran Memorization
  • Pass an oral assessment after completing the above prerequisites to demonstrate the student’s ability to read the Holy Quran fluently with full application of the rules of tajwid with minimal errors.

*Starred items may be waived through a placement test for Tajwid and/or Arabic

**Once students are approved for TAJ 405, they are admitted as Ijazah track students and are eligible to take other level 4 and 5 courses required for the Ribaat Tajwid Iazah.

Placement:

Course Requirements: 

This is an online course so students will need:

  • Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance.
  • Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation.
