Still struggling to make out the letters of the Quran? Wish you could read the Quran this Ramadan? This is the place for you! A 10-day, intensive crash course for complete beginners (and anyone else who wants a refresher!) to learn how to decode the Arabic alphabet and begin to read the Holy Quran.

We are committed to helping you be able to access the words of Allah (swt) in time for Ramadan!

In this interactive workshop students will learn the letters of the Arabic alphabet and will be able to identify them in all their forms. They will gain a theoretical and practical understanding of the points of articulation in order to work towards proper pronunciation.

Students will learn short and long vowels and other diacritical markings. They will learn how to start and end verses of the Qur’an. They will also learn important tips for making their recitation fluent. Students who are able to attend live will have the opportunity to implement and practice what they are learning, as well as ask questions to the instructor.

Requirements:

• Students should be women above the age of 17.
• Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance.
• Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation.
• To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.
