Companions of the Prophet ﷺ

Course Description:

An in-depth study of the sixty companions discussed in the book Stars in the Prophet’s Orbit. Students will learn their stories, draw conclusions about Islamic precepts from their lives, understand their relationship to the Prophet ﷺ, and derive personal lessons from their lives. Students will apply same to an additional companion upon whom research will be done.

The first thirty companions of this text are covered in Part 1 of the course, and the second thirty are covered in Part 2. It is not required to complete part 1 before part 2.

• The lives of 30 of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ
• Lessons learned
• Female companions
• Young men and women around the Prophet ﷺ
• Well-known companions as well as lesser known ones who had pivotal roles

Get ANSWERS to questions like:

• Who were some of the people that lived with the Prophet ﷺ?
• What were their relationships with him ﷺ like?
• What can we do in our daily lives to live like the companions?
• How can I increase my love for the Prophet ﷺ?

Course Logistics:

• Designed in an easy to follow format.

• Based on the aqida of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’a.
• Women only.
• Ages 17+ can register.

Please note that daylight savings time will end in the United States on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Depending on where you live, this may or may not affect your class timing. In countries where DST is not applied at all, class will be one hour later starting November 3.

Recordings: 

Live attendance is recommended whenever possible for the best learning experience. Recordings of the sessions will be made available for registered students who cannot attend live. Students will have access to course forums, recordings, and files until January 10, 2025.

Course Prerequisites:

Students should be women above the age of 17.

Course Requirements:

Students are expected to attend the online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, complete a term paper, and submit a final exam. This is an online course so students will need:

• Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance.
• Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation.
• To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.

• $20.00 late registration fee in effect starting September 14th (if seats are available)
