Course Description:

Arabic Intermediate Middle 1 is the first module in the Intermediate Middle band, designed to deepen students’ understanding of Arabic verbs through an introduction to hollow roots and the 10 verb forms. Learners will develop the skills needed to use an Arabic root dictionary effectively.

The course also covers constructing and describing opposites, and expands vocabulary related to the human body, health, and wellness. Students will engage with both classical and modern Arabic texts, enabling them to discuss health topics and wellness issues with confidence.

Module Content:

  • Hollow verbs
  • Usingكان  and her sisters
  • Comparing and contrasting using the أفعل  form
  • Introduction to Verb Forms

Course Prerequisites:

  • Students should be women above the age of 17.
  • Arabic Intermediate Beginner 3 or equivalent knowledge.

Course Requirements:

Students are expected to attend 2 online classes each week, complete weekly assignments, submit a personal project and a final exam.

Live attendance is recommended whenever possible for the best learning experience. Recordings of the sessions will be made available for registered students who cannot attend live. Students will have access to course forums, recordings, and files until May 31st, 2026.

This is an online course so students will need:

  • Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance.
  • Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation.
  • To access the live class and recordings, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the Zoom app.
