Ustadha Samah Atef serves as an Arabic instructor at the Ribaat Academic Institute. She graduated from the renowned Al-Azhar University and is a hafidhah, having completed memorization of the Quran at a young age. She also holds a Tajwīd ijāza from Jadeer Academy in Egypt.
She has a strong foundation in the Arabic language and Islamic Sciences from her 17 years of education at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, where she studied topics such as fiqh, ‘aqīda, sīra, hadīth, tafsīr, Quran, and more. Since 2017, she has dedicated herself to teaching Arabic and Islamic studies to non-Arabs. She loves to share her passion for the Arabic language and heritage and works hard to provide students a safe and encouraging learning environment. As an online Arabic teacher for 7 years, Ustadha Samah excels in creating engaging and interactive classes. She utilizes the active learning approach, to ensure students actively participate in the learning process.
In 2020, as recognition for her expertise in her field, she was awarded a Fulbright grant and taught Arabic Language and Culture to the faculty and staff at Kirkwood Community College in Iowa, USA, as a professional development program.In addition, she was an active member of the Muslim community there and taught children at the Islamic school at Al-Iman Mosque in Iowa City.
She now resides in Egypt and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Language Teaching and Pedagogy.
Ustadha Samah started teaching with Ribaat in 2022.
