Anse Dr. Samar Chmseddin serves as a Tajwīd and Arabic instructor for the Ribaat Academic Institute. She commenced her education and teaching career in her native homeland of Lebanon, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literature and started her teaching career. After relocating to the US, she earned a master’s degree in Arabic Literature and Teaching. To expand her knowledge base and expertise, she successfully pursued her PhD in Leadership and Management in Education.
For the past 25 years, Anse Dr. Samar has taught Arabic in a variety of settings, including weekend programs, summer programs, full time private schools, and full-time charter schools. She also served as an instructor at Henry Ford Community College and Johns Hopkins University. Her teaching career extended to teaching Arabic language to elementary, middle, and high school students as well as adults in Lebanon and the US.
Anse Samar has also served on curriculum boards, creating and implementing Arabic curriculum materials designed for students learning Arabic as a second language. Dr. Samar studied a variety of Islamic Science subjects and holds an ijāza in tajwīd of the Holy Qur’an. Along with teaching tajwīid and Arabic online with Ribaat, she teaches in her local community as well.
She started working with Ribaat in 2020.
