This course studies the narrators, meanings, and practical applications of the hadith found in the famous collection of hadith by Imam an-Nawawī, Riyāḍ al-ṣaliḥīn. Throughout this four-part class, we will study the four-volume commentary (one book per course) of Riyāḍ al-ṣaliḥīn entitled Fawḥ al-rayaḥīn by one of the foremost hadith scholars of the twenty-first century–Shaykha Samar al-Asha. This four-volume work includes commentary on each hadith. Students will read the book in Arabic and discuss the content in English in class. Part 2 will study volume two.
