Course Description:

This is a guided memorization course for students who are ready to start on the exciting journey of Quran memorization. Two weekly sessions will provide the opportunity to memorize Juz’ ‘Amma in a group setting with the support of a certified tajwid instructor. Students will become familiar with the memorization process and acquire memorization skills. They will learn different methods to commit Quran verses to memory, retain the verses they learn and build upon gradually increasing amounts of Quran. Students will be guided through regular practice sessions while memorizing Juz’ 30 together. The instructor will lead the group in memorization through the traditional method of talqeen (repeating after the teacher). The teacher will keep track of students’ progress, administer memorization tests and quizzes, and grade students according to a memorization and tajwid rubric.
